The Rice Objectivism Club was re-started in September 2007 to provide literary and philosophic enrichment on the Rice campus.
The purpose of the ROC is to
- Systematically study Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism and learn how to integrate these ideas in one’s personal and professional life as well as apply them to current academic, social, and political issues
- Encourage those who already know about Rand’s ideas through reading her novels and/or non-fiction works to learn why her ideas can in fact be integrated in practice
- Introduce Rand’s novels and non-fiction books to members of the Rice community who are not already familiar with her works or ideas
